Goldberg Violations

For this project I took the 1955 Glenn Gould recording of Bach’s Goldberg Variations, and ‘re-composed’ it using a pitch/time-shifting software which allows precise manipulations of individual notes within a polyphonic texture (re-pitching, stretching/compressing, and even muting single notes within chords). This allowed me to create my own altered versions of the Goldberg Variations while retaining the original sound and feel of Glenn Gloud’s original 1955 performance.

This is a work in progress – I plan to re-compose all 30 variations and I will be gradually adding them to this playlist.
